One taste of this and you'll be a believer! There IS a healthy way to eat Mac and Cheese! You can use this over the noodles of your choice or use it as a Cheeze dip with your favorite chips and get your party started! Nutritional Yeast is the backbone of this delicious kid-friendly alternative and is a fabulous source of vitamin B6!
1/4 c flour
1 3/4 c water
1/4 c plant based butter (Earth Balance is my fav...so far!)
1 t salt
2 T soy sauce
1 t garlic powder
1/8 t turmeric
1/4 c nutritional yeast flakes (nooch!)
Mix flour and water together until smooth. Melt butter in medium sauce pan. Stir in flour/water mixture and bring to simmer. Remove from heat. Quickly add salt, soy sauce, garlic powder and turmeric and blend thoroughly. Stir in nooch.
Store in a covered container in the refrigerator and use in your favorite recipes for up to 5 days.
